Right now, this is about YOU.
And what you need.
If you’re thinking any of this to yourself, you’re in the right place:
I’ve put a lot of hard work into my project and want it to turn out great.
I have some tight deadlines I need to hit.
I need a young male voice actor with a lot of experience and excellent audio quality.
I’m curious about voice over rates for my specific project.
I may need to direct the voice actor remotely over the phone, Skype, ISDN, or some other means.
Now… About Me
My name is John Lano – full-time, young, male voice actor.
…And amateur husband.
I’m based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
This is a picture of my wife, Abigail, and me.
We met in school at the College of St. Benedict/Saint John’s University.
We are a strong team.
You see, I was a good student in college.
I graduated summa cum laude (highest distinction) and Phi Beta Kappa (academic honor’s society) with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and minors in business and Spanish.
So, when I revealed I wanted to chase my dream of becoming a pro voice actor (something that doesn’t require a college degree)…
But she had my back.
She saw me grow from being scared, having zero experience and zero clients…
…to confidently voicing TV/radio advertisements, online explainer videos, training videos, and more for hundreds of trusted brands all over the world, including AT&T, Dreamworks, Red Bull, Under Armour, 3M, and Porsche. (Watch here)
She even saw me become the national brand voice of Autotrader.com. (Watch here)
She saw me go from not understanding how to record simple, crappy audio on my laptop…
…to recording, editing, and delivering crystal clear, broadcast-ready sound for national TV and radio ads out of my private, acoustically treated WhisperRoom voice over booth.
It was and still is a scary journey.
And I couldn’t have done it without her.
Here’s what I’ve learned…
A strong marriage is built on teamwork.
A strong collaboration between a voice actor and client is built on teamwork, too.
Are you ready to team up with me?
